Home Equity Line Of Credit Starting Your Own Business

Home Equity Line Of Credit Starting Your Own Business

Home Equity Line Of Credit Starting Your Own Business

All the initial steps for starting your own business can easily be financed with the funds obtained from a home equity line of credit and the flexibility for repayment will provide you with the ease you need to concentrate specifically on your business instead on repaying the loan. The characteristics of home equity lines of credit are perfect for this purpose.

In this article we will analyze the concepts of home equity and home equity lines of credit and explain why these particular lines of credit are perfect tools for starting new businesses and what the benefits that these financial products provide are.

Defining Equity
Equity is the difference between the current value of your property and any pecuniary obligations that it is guaranteeing. These obligations can be liens, mortgages, etc. The amount of available equity is obtained by subtracting the amount of the outstanding obligations to the valuation price of the property.

Thus, if you own a property that is worth $120,000 and your current mortgage balance is around $70,000 that means that you still have $50,000 of available equity on your home that you can use for obtaining a loan or line of credit and use it for any purpose you can think of. Following we will analyze home equity lines of credit for starting businesses.

Lines Of Credit for Businesses
Lines of credit are revolving sources of funds that can provide you with all the finance you need for starting a business if they are based on sufficient equity. The idea is that you are granted credit up to a certain amount limit which is guaranteed with your home equity.
In the above example you would count with up to $50,000 on your line of credit to start your own business.

There is no need for you to withdraw the whole amount and as long as you don't request money, the line of credit won't generate interests. You'll only have to pay a small maintenance fee.
Moreover, say you withdraw $10,000, the interest rate will only be charged over that $10,000. Once you repay the amount, it will stop generating interests and you can withdraw that amount or any amount up to the credit limit whenever you want.

As regards repayment, it is also very simple. You will only be required to repay a minimum amount every month, just like with credit cards. This minimum almost always consists on the interests and sometimes a small portion of the principal. This provides you with a lot of flexibility. When starting a business you can't be suffering pressure from lenders because you need to concentrate on generating income rather than repaying a loan. Thus, home equity lines of credit provide you with all the finance you need and don't asphyxiate your business with high monthly payments.

Once your running business generates enough income for you to cope with higher payments, you can start repaying the principal at your best convenience. Moreover, you can easily fix the interest rate (that is otherwise always variable) and turn the home equity line of credit into a home equity loan.

Barbell Floor Press Challenge Week 19

I did very week this week; I got in two separate barbell floor press workouts. After a month away from the gym, the results were pretty good.

Here are the results for Wednesday March 15, 2018 and Saturday March 17, 2018:

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

no warm-up set

bent over barbell row

seated overhead machine press

standing dumbbell skullcrushers

Saturday, March 17, 2018

no warm-up set

farmer's walk

75 lb in each hand x 6

seated cable row

seated machine chest press 120x5x3

As you can see, I did multiple sets of the barbell floor press exercise: I started with one set at 270 pounds, then reduced the weight to 245 pounds for the rest of the sets. I didn't feel as if I had the energy to do multiple sets at 270 pounds.  The workout on Wednesday came after taking nearly a month off from exercising at the gym, but today it was attributed to shoulder strain.  I was disappointed with that because I should have forged ahead.

I also a variety of other compound exercises. All told, the workouts felt good after such a long break.

Next week I may lift at 270 pounds but then again, I'm planning on lifting heavier when I return to the gym. I'll keep you posted.

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear ; do not be frightened." 1 Peter 3:14

Maine: Deep Sea Fishing for Cod

Maine: Deep Sea Fishing for CodMaine: Deep Sea Fishing for Cod by by John Smi

Few anglers can resist the opportunity to fight and land a trophy fish, which is why deep sea fishing in Maine continues to be so popular throughout the fishing season. Though Maine's many waterways are home to a considerable number of larger species, few compare to the cod which can be found just a few miles off the coast. With that in mind, thousands of anglers take to the seas between July and September on their own boats or chartered trips in search of that once in a lifetime catch. Whether you fish regularly, or are just a beginner looking for a challenge, deep sea fishing for cod provides the perfect answer.

Deep sea fishing is often referred to as ground fishing, whereby the aim is to fish close to the seabed. Species such as cod are bottom feeders, which mean that they scavenge for food along the seabed, and so ground fishing is the most productive technique to use. Cod will take a variety of baits, including artificial lures, baited feathers, sand eels, squid, mussels or crab. Other baits may also work depending on the mood of the fish and the food sources that are typically available in the area.

Like many other saltwater species, cod can typically be found near disturbances on the seabed. Rough ground, ledges, wrecks and other obstacles are all excellent places to find cod, and it is well worth seeking out these locations before you head out. It is possible to catch cod on clearer ground, though you are much more likely to come across the odd group rather than a constant supply of fish.

Deep sea fishing requires moderately heavy duty equipment, which you will be thankful for if you are lucky enough to end up with a forty pound cod on the end of your line. Many deep sea anglers recommend using a six to eight foot fifty pound class rod coupled with a similarly weighted line. Though the majority of your catches will be safely under this limit, you never quite know what is on the other end of your line.

Cod are an excellent starting point for those looking to try deep sea fishing. Their scavenging nature ensures that they will accept a wide range of bait, and with the odd fifty pound monster lurking off the coast of Maine, are far from a small catch. The added incentive of being an excellent meal make cod an attractive target for any would-be deep sea fisherman, and with so many chartered trips running throughout the fishing season, there is no excuse not to get out there and give it a try.

Getting Exercise In While Being A Mom

Getting Exercise In While Being A MomGetting Exercise In While Being A Mom by by Jill Smi

Many women have an extra challenge when dieting - Motherhood. A trip to the gym is out of the question with soccer practice and dance class to attend. But there is a way to fit exercise into your motherhood routine. Many women have an extra challenge when dieting - Motherhood. A trip to the gym is out of the question with soccer practice and dance class to attend. But there has to be a way to fit exercise into your motherhood routine if you want to lose weight, without losing your sanity. Below you'll find some suggestions for calorie burning activities real moms can do to fit exercise into their lives.

Hit The Road

Once the school age kids have hit the bus, take a brisk walk for an hour. If you need to, bring your child along in a stroller. Pushing the stroller while taking a brisk walk will actually increase the calories burned, not to mention that your child would probably enjoy it.

Exercise Videos

When the younger kids go down for a nap, pop Barney out of the VCR and insert an aerobics or workout video. You can also try getting your kids involved. At a young age, kids are usually willing to do anything that mom finds interesting. If you have a step workout video, try setting your child up with their own step (child -sized of course) so they can do it with you.

Cut The Grass

Mowing your lawn with a non-riding mower can help you burn quite a few calories. If you normally pay a service to mow your lawn, try cutting back the frequency that they come to every other time, and pick up the extra mowing yourself. Raking your lawn is also a source of a good work out. Not only will you be exercising, but you'll have a beautiful lawn as a bonus.

Get Your Dancing Shoes

Dancing is a great way to burn some calories. Pop in your favorite CD at home and dance with your kids for an hour. A night of dancing out with your spouse or partner could be a great source of exercise as well as a much needed stress reliever.

General Housework

Moderate everyday housework can also become a part of your official exercise program. Vacuuming, mopping and many other household chores burn calories.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is that everyone, including at home mothers, can find a way to fit exercise into their daily routine. If you want to know how many calories you could be burning with some of these activities, check out this Calorie Counter Calculator to find out exactly how many calories you are burning during your normal at home routine, and how many more you could be burning by adding some of the activities above to your day.

Caring For Your Septic System

Caring For Your Septic System

Caring For Your Septic System
By Juanita Swindell

Every home has its own septic system and it is the homeowner's responsibility to conduct regular maintenance and inspection of the system. The septic system consists of a drainfield, septic tank and distribution box. These are connected by pipes. All household wastewater goes into the septic tank where it gets partially treated and separated from the heavy solids. The partially treated wastewater flows into a distribution box. From there it drains into gravel trenches and then seeps slowly into the drainfield where it gets further purified.

Dangers Of An Abused Or Neglected Septic System

When a septic system is working properly, the wastewater gets fully treated and purified in the drainfield and it does not pollute the groundwater. However, if it malfunctions or fails, it can create a plethora of problems, from creating a toxic environment for your family and neighbors to reducing the value of your property and polluting the public water supply.

Tips For Caring For Your Septic System

Here are a few things you can do to care for your septic system and keep it working efficiently:

Do not throw large solid items, especially nondegradables such as pampers or sanitary napkins down the toilet.

Get a licensed septic contractor to inspect the system and pump the tank out at least once in three to five years.

Practice water conservation by using the dishwasher and washing machine only when you have a full load.

Fix all leaking toilets and dripping faucets.

Try to leave the area over the drainfield undisturbed. Regularly parking your vehicle or driving over the drainfield can compact the soil in the area, and damage drain lines. Also, when the soil is compacted, tree roots may force entry into the drain pipes, cracking them in the process and blocking the free flow of waste water through the drains. This is one of the most common reasons why sewage gets backed up.

Warning Signs Of A Failing Septic System

Sometimes, despite taking all precautions, the septic system may still fail. Recognizing the early signs is important so that you can avert a full-fledged disaster. These signs call for emergency action:

• Sewage has started backing up in the house
• There is a lush, green growth over the drainfield area
• The toilets, bath tub and sinks are draining out very slowly
• Sewage has started surfacing over the drainfield
• There are toxic odors emanating from outside the house
If you notice any of these signs, it calls for immediate action. Sewage problems never get sorted out by itself. When left untreated, the problem will only get worse.

Regular inspection and maintenance are important aspects of caring for your septic system. Don't wait until there is a problem. Call Liberty Plumbing and Septic to get your system inspected today. Also check out our new Blog Post on Repair Home Septic.

How To Find a Search and Rescue Dog Training School

How To Find a Search and Rescue Dog Training School

How To Find a Search and Rescue Dog Training School

By: Melissa Buhmeyer

There are many things dogs can be trained to do but, of all the tasks a working dog can perform, search and rescue ranks the highest for needing qualified, professional trainers. A Search and Rescue (SAR) dog's performance, quite literally, can determine life or death to a human in need.

As shocking as it may sound, there is no set of standards for rescue dog training. Subsequently, rescue clubs, teams, and individuals emerge as trainers, when, in fact, they may know little, or nothing at all, about training a SAR dog. Attending seminars and reading books on the subject are worthwhile endeavors, but they do not constitute being a SAR dog trainer. Sadly, in a large percentage of cases, this is an assumption not only made, but followed, and replicated. In some cases, those touting themselves as SAR dog trainers scarcely have enough knowledge to teach a dog simple parlor tricks, let alone promptly and accurately scenting or tracking skills, where a human life hangs in the balance.

Even when the topical qualifications are in place, this is no substitute for failing to research the validity of those qualifications. You will hear the term "qualified instructor" often from those with police/military backgrounds. While this sounds impressive, keep in mind that there is no "qualification" standard to begin with, so the very title is misleading. Further, there may be a very good reason that the individual is no longer training/handling outside of the police/military venues. That reason may be a desire for work in the private sector, or it could be indicative of poor performance.

Now, I'm not trying to paint a bleak picture; there are a number of incredible SAR dog trainers out there. All of these great instructors hold one thing in common: they can bear your scrutiny with flying colors. If you're making the huge step towards training your dog for SAR, then you really need to make the right choices. Here are the top things to consider when choosing a SAR dog trainer:

1. Experience. There is no substitute and there is no better gauge of a trainer's value. Look for trainers who have years of experience in a wide variety of disciplines, not just SAR. Demonstrated ability, in more than a single focus, means that the trainer will be able to administer a wide variety of training methods to accomplish the end goal. Other potential disciplines to look for include: agility, obedience, hunting, or herding. This experience is easily verified by titles such as: Companion Dog (CD, CDX) Agility Dog (AD, MACH, NATCH), Schutzhund (I, II, II) to name a few.

2. Actual SAR experience is a must. SAR dogs perform a number of tasks that your instructor MUST have real world experience with. They need to be well versed, from first hand experience, on how lost or fleeing people will act, how a crime scene needs to be preserved in cadaver searches resulting from criminal acts, etc.

3. The trainer should be well-versed on all breeds and capable of assessing and advising on the limitations and capacity of that breed.

4. Separate marketing from proven performance. If your trainer is good, you can bet he or she will have references. Contact those agencies and inquire about the specific services the trainer was hired for and their thoughts regarding the trainer's services. Just because they have a polished web site, well-designed brochures, etc., does not mean they're the best pick, by default. In some cases, a smaller organization may actually yield better references.

The decision for you, and your dog, to become involved in SAR is a big one. Take the time to do your homework. Your success and enjoyment will not only be richer but it may, in fact, save a life!

Getting the Credit You Deserve?

Getting the Credit You Deserve?

Getting the Credit You Deserve?

Have you ever wondered why so many businesses fail within 1-2 years... or even after 5 years in business?

To many business owners, this question is scarier than finding a burglar standing over your bed at night. So, here's some common sense advice that can save your business, regardless of how long you've been in business.

First of all, building a solid business credit rating is possible regardless of your personal credit scores. Obtaining the right types of corporate credit is vital to: the protection of your personal assets, the risks associated with personal lawsuits affecting your business, and your business' ability to weather economic changes that seem to occur overnight.

All business owners must make it a weekly priority toward developing relationships with the right types of lending institutions. You usually want to start your application process with out-of-state, national (or international) lenders... not your local or regional banking institutions; because these larger lenders typically won't require a personal guarantee or your social security number.

However, there are many steps you'll need to take before you start applying for any type of business credit. Ultimately, it's in your best interest to find a competent professional that can help you navigate through the murky underworld of building a strong corporate credit rating... giving you a head start on your competition & also letting you focus on running your business' day-to-day activities.

An excellent business credit score can help your company's image, overnight. You need to be able to answer some very basic questions, before you apply for any business credit.

1. Is your business strauctured as a sole proprietorship, C-corporation, S-Corporation, Limited-Liability Corporation (LLC), Partnership, or Trust?

2. How long has your business been recognized by your State & Local government?

3. Has this company ever had any derogatory information provided to the most popular business credit reporting agencies, Dun & Bradstreet or Experian?

4. Does your company have the proper permits, licenses and registrations necessary to conduct business in your jurisdiction?

5. Does your business have a physical address?

6. Does your business have a landline telephone number that's recognized by directory assistance?

7. Are your incoming telephone calls professionally answered in your business name, or is it answered as if incoming calls are personal conversations?

8. Does your business have a business checking account?

9. Does your business have an Employer Identification Number (also known as an EIN)?

If your answer to the first question was a sole proprietorship, partnership or trust; I urge you to re-establish your company as a corporation or LLC. I'm not going to provide you with legal advice, but many CPAs and attorneys highly recommend LLCs (Limited Liability Corporations) as a way of protecting your personal assets & estate... in the event of any lawsuits being filed against your company. As a sole proprietor, your personal assets are at direct risk of seizure or forfeiture when faced with most types of legal action. Additionally, most lending institutions will not require you to provide any personal guarantee when applying for credit in the name of an LLC.

A corporation can still face difficulties applying for business credit, if its been in business less than 2 years or if its had previous credit problems reported against it... although its not impossible to overcome. Here are some common fixes. You can purchase a "shelf" or "aged" corporation that's been recognized by your State government for longer than 2 years. You can attempt to repair your business credit rating by writing dispute letters to Experian or Dun & Bradstreet, which isn't always possible. A few corporate credit experts will sell you "shelf" or "aged" corporations, some of which already have strong credit ratings established in each entity's name... saving you alot of hassles.

I cannot stress this enough... you MUST have a physical address (not a PO Box) if you want to establish a solid business credit rating. The same thing is said for telephone numbers & the way incoming phone calls are handled. You don't have to act as if your company is a Fortune 500 company. You just need to put yourself in the lender's shoes for a moment & ask yourself, "Would I lend money to a company that I can't find a physical address for?" or "Would I lend money to a company that answers their mobile phone with your favorite musician's answer tone & is answered in a non-professional manner?". I hope your answer was a resounding "NO!". If not, can I borrow $1,000,000? You can always find me wherever my mobile phone is at the moment. (Get my point?) And, don't forget to get the proper paperwork to go into business & keep these documents current.

Moving on, business checking accounts are a must. Again, this proves stability to your potential lenders. Here are some possible solutions, if you've had checking accounts closed in the past. Pay off the outstanding balance (if any) that's being reported by the bank, or open a checking account at a bank or credit union that doesn't use the ChexSystems credit reporting system. Most credit unions don't use ChexSystems, and you can always find a list of banking institutions in your area that don't use ChexSystems... by simply doing a search on Google, Yahoo or MSN.

Corporate credit ratings are tracked using your business name, business address and employer identification number (EIN). It takes less than five (5) minutes to apply for an EIN at which is the IRS' website.

Next, you'll want to obtain a D-U-N-S number from Dun & Bradstreet, the largest business credit reporting agency. You can apply for this without any fees at which is the Dun & Bradstreet website, and you'll usually receive this number within thirty (30) days. Do not apply for this number until you've prepared your self thoroughly, because any information you give to them... goes into your credit file... permanently.

After you've obtained your D-U-N-S number, you're probably ready to start establishing some vendor credit. Vendor credit is where many business owners start establishing business credit ratings. Simply go to, or to get started. Then, you'll also need to fax your business telephone bill & the credit application to them... on your business letterhead (which you can create using your favorite word processing software). They usually don't require any personal guarantees (if you've followed the outline above), and you'll usually receive a starting credit line of $750.

Be sure to always pay your invoices before the grace periods begin. This is critical, especially on unsecured credit cards. Dun & Bradstreet issues what's known as a Paydex score (your corporate credit score), and a score of 80 is very good... with 100 being the highest score you can achieve. Your Paydex score is issued once you've established a known vendor/credit relationship with at least five (5) creditors... and it reflects negatively on your credit score if you pay a bill after you've entered in the grace period & even worse if you pay after the due date.

Again, there are shortcuts that will help you get much more than $750 alot faster. I've seen hundreds of people start with vendor credit equaling $25,000-$50,000 and open credit lines of $50,000 up to $1,000,000... in as little as 45-90 days... by using a corporate credit expert's knowledge of the application process & "shelf" corporations. In fact, the best corporate credit experts will usually already have "shelf" corporations for sale... with pre-established credit ratings & lines of credit.

In summary, I've given you most of the tools & information you need to obtain corporate credit lines. Are you going to let a "cash crunch" put you out of business? Are you going to try to establish a business credit rating yourself & build your credit slowly? Or, will you utilize the services of a knowledgeable corporate credit expert to establish your credit rating & secure large credit lines... overnight? The choice is yours.

Taking a Trip to Michigan for a Great Bass Fishing Experience

Taking a Trip to Michigan for a Great Bass Fishing ExperienceTaking a Trip to Michigan for a Great Bass Fishing Experience by by Jillian Smith

Michigan, the metro Detroit area, is a surprising location for great bass fishing trips. While many fishermen would not think to take a bass fishing expedition to the state of Michigan, there are several great areas for fine bass fishing. Lake St. Clair, Lake Erie, Saginaw Bay, and several inland lakes offer some of the best small mouth bass fishing anywhere. Fishing in Michigan takes place from April through December and the seasons provide different kinds fishing opportunities.

Bass fishing trips from early spring through the spawn are usually very productive. There is exciting fishing at this time of year. Many fish are visible, and they are interested in fishing baits like the super flukes and spinner baits. With these baits, it is a prime time to catch fish. The spring weather makes it a great destination for enjoyable fishing.

Fish are generally found in deeper water as the fish settle into their summer routines. By mid summer they are schooled and feeding heavily. Your bass fishing trips at this time of year can yield twenty five to forty fish per day. The average fish weighs almost seven pounds.

During fall, small mouth bass start feeding aggressively. They are best found in the shallows. Some of the biggest fish of the year can be caught as the ice over approaches because this is when fish are looking to feed. There is a benefit to scheduling bass fishing trips at this time of year in Michigan, because there is little boat traffic. You have most of the fishing areas to yourself. However, cold weather gear is necessary for these trips, and may deter fishermen who aren't accustomed to cold water fishing. It can be a frigid experience in Michigan during the winter season because of the winds and temperatures.

Bass fishing trips are available for different bodies of water throughout Michigan, particularly for small mouth bass. The Grand Traverse Bay, Thunder Bay, Bay De Noc and countless other Great Lakes Ports offer often untouched fishing opportunities. Also for small mouth fishing Michigan has top-notch inland lakes.

The Detroit River also offers opportunities for walleye fishing in addition to bass fishing. This is where fish in massive numbers migrate up the Detroit River from Lake Erie in the spring.

For the white bass fishing the best time period to go is May through mid June on Lakes Erie and St. Clair. This is also a great time for top water bass fishing opportunities. At this time is where spawning white bass are making their way up the river. These fish are eager to bite at anything resembling a minnow so this makes fishing simple and easy during this time.
