How to Eliminate Body Hairs?
By Monica C.
Generalized, unwanted body hairs can mess up your plans for a
svelte, sensual dress or a trip to the beach. You needn’t worry
about body hair anymore. As it turns out, there are many ways of
eliminating these unsightly skin occupants easily and
effectively.
Cold Waxing
Cold waxing makes use of the same ingredients as those used in
the hot waxing method. The major difference is the actual
temperature of the wax when it’s applied to the skin. If hot
waxing requires melting before application, cold waxing doesn’t.
Don’t worry about mixing your own batch of cold wax for your
hair legs. There are many available cold wax brands out in the
market today. Many of these brands offer the waxes attached
firmly to pre-shaped strips.
The shape of the strip is important. Since the cold wax can be
applied to places like the eyebrow and the bikini area, the
shape of the strip dictates the shape of the wax. If you want to
remedy your eyebrows, you must buy arched cold wax strips, if
you want something for the arms, you need long, narrow strips,
etc. The main disadvantage with cod waxing is that it does not
remove all the hairs in one pull. Therefore, you must apply the
strips repeatedly to get the best results.
Depilatory Products
As early as the nineties, depilatory products have been in use
to remove hairs from various regions of the body. Most
depilatory products come in cream form; some use an oil-based
medium. Quality depilatory products can provide users with
smooth and hair-free skin for about a week or less, depending on
the individual rate of hair growth. Just like nail growth, hair
growth varies across different individuals, across different
populations.
The usual active ingredients of the depilatory products include
sodium calcium and titanium dioxide. Industrially, elements like
titanium dioxide are used in conjunction with bleaching agents.
Ordinarily, depilatory products need at least 5 to 15 minutes of
sitting time on your skin to dissolve the unwanted hair amply.
After which you can simply rub off the formula from your skin.
Make sure that you rub off the stuff well so that you can get
rid of as much hair as you can maximally can.
Safety With Depilatory Products
While we’re glad that you think you’ve found the best solution
to your unwanted hairs, we must still throw caution to the air.
Remember that depilatory products have been armed with
ingredients that actually break the chemical bonds of the hairs
and physically dissolving them. Something that potent should be
used with care, always. While the most popular brands have been
designed to be tolerated well, there’s always room for
exceptions.
To avoid any nasty run-ins with severe dermatosis resulting
from chemical allergies, use a test patch first. A test patch is
simply a small area of the skin where you ‘test’ whether a skin
product is tolerable or not. Usually, common signs of allergy
such as redness, hard bumps and itchiness manifests if you are
allergic to a product. If something like that happens after you
let a small amount of the product sit on your skin, then don’t
use the product.
