Important News About A Clinical Trial For People With Pediatric Asthma

I have news which might be very valuable to people with pediatric asthma. Acurian health is seeking pediatric patients with asthma.

Acurian is recruiting patients because current asthma treatments don't work well for all children. Clinical researchers are studying research treatments that may better control asthma in every child.

As a CureClick Ambassador I want to share this information with my readers because it could be helpful for medically treating people who have the debilitating condition.

Asthma affects over 6 million children in the U.S.[1], but the current treatment options are limited and don't necessarily effective for everyone that’s why we need your help. All it takes is one click to share this trial with your friends, family, and community — and that one click could make all the difference in someone's life if they have a child that qualifies for this trial.

Information about the clinical trial and eligibility requirements are listed below:

Pediatric Asthma
Asthma is a common lung condition among children. Your child may already have the symptoms of asthma like coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Current asthma treatments don't work well for every child. Clinical researchers are studying research treatments that may better control asthma in children.

For those of you whom are not familiar with clinical trials, here's some information that you can use:

What Are Clinical Trials?

Clinical trials are research studies to determine whether investigational drugs or treatments are safe and effective for humans.

All investigational devices and medicines must undergo several clinical trials, often times these clinical trials require thousands of people.

Why participate in a clinical trial?

People whom are eligible will have access to new investigational treatments that would be available to the general public only upon approval.

People whom are eligible for clinical trials will also receive study-related medical care and attention from clinical staff at research facilities.

Clinical trials offer hope for many people and gives researchers a chance to find better treatment for others in the future.

Disclaimer: I am not participating in this clinical trial. I am providing this information to my readers as a CureClick Ambasssador. Click on the links below to learn about my relationship with Cureclick and why I'm talking about clinical trials.

In this day and age health promotion is getting more attention in the general public than breaking the bank on a dozen cures. Due to this need, multivitamins and supplements are becoming more popular and well received. But this is no fad, multivitamins has proven itself beneficial and largely contributing in an individual’s health maintenance.

So why are multivitamins good for you? Here are just a few of the reasons why it helps you keep optimum health.

1. Multivitamins fill nutritional gaps especially when your diet is inadequate to provide the daily recommended nutrients for your body. Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, trace elements, co-factors and herbal extracts can help in maintaining optimum reproductive health and function. These ingredients control and keep hormone levels in healthy conditions, because imbalances and deficiencies are the common culprits of sexual problems.

A good and complete multivitamin supplement has ingredients that go beyond the typical vitamins and minerals which can help in improving sleep. Herbal extracts from Black Cohosh, for example, can help prevent insomnia. Some amino acids like Taurine and Glycine improves the quality of sleep that you get.

Causes of Hair Loss

Causes of Hair Loss

Submitted by: Praveen Pandey

Losing hair is a natural part of the body's renewal process. As hair falls out, new growth replaces it. Most people suffer from excessive hair loss at some time in their life. There are a number of factors for this including medication, radiation, chemotherapy, exposure to chemicals, hormonal and nutritional factors, thyroid disease, generalized or local skin disease, and stress. Many of these causes are temporary and a few are permanent.

Some of the factors which cause hair fall are lifespan, styling, and aging. The average lifespan of a single hair is 4.5 years; the hair then falls out and is replaced in a few months by new ones. Shampooing, blow drying, and brushing hair can all cause hair to fall out. After the age of 30, men and women both start losing hair, though men tend to do so at a faster rate.

Many of us have heard that stress can cause hair loss, and that's true. Excessive physical or emotional stress, which is associated with injury, illness or surgery, can cause two types of hair loss such as telogen effluvium which is a less severe type of hair loss. The hair stops growing and lies dormant. It falls out 2 or 3 months later and grows back within 6 to 9 months.

The other type of stress-induced hair loss is alopecia areata, which involves a white blood cell attack on the hair follicles. With this type of hair loss, the hair falls out within weeks of the attack, usually in patches, but can involve the entire scalp and even body hair. Hair may grow own its own, but treatment may also be required.

Hormonal problems may also cause hair loss. If the thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, hair may fall out. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to retain hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, high blood pressure or heart problems, oral contraceptives and antidepressants, seizure medication, anti-inflammatory drugs, mood altering drugs, chemotherapy and diet pills, high doses of Vitamin A.

Nutritional deficiencies can also cause hair loss. Some conditions that can trigger hair loss due to deficiencies are anorexia nervosa, protein/calorie deficiency, essential fatty acid or zinc deficiency, mal-absorption, and iron deficiency anemia.

Certain infections such as a fungal infection or an underlying disease such as lupus or diabetes can give rise to hair fall. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find out the cause, and treat it so that the hair loss stops on its own.

Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. Recalls Celery Products That Have Been Linked To Multistate E. Coli Outbreak

According to a press release posted on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website, Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. of Tracy, California, is recalling Celery and Onion Diced Blend products that may include celery which could potentially contain E. coli 0157:H7.

The products have been used in Costco's Rotisserie Chicken Salad and has been linked to a multi-state E. coli 0157:H7 outbreak.

E. coli 0157:H7 can cause bloody stool, and hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a type of kidney failure which can be a very serious problem for the elderly and young children.

The company says the recall is being conducted out of an "abundance of caution" because the celery and onion diced blend tested positive for the potentially deadly bacteria.

The recalled products were sold at Costco, Walmart, Sams Club, Tonys, Target, Starbucks, Safeway, Vons, Albertsons, Savemart, Raleys, Pantry, King Sooper, and 7-Eleven.

This product has a typical shelf life of 3 days and is labeled "Chicken Salad made with Rotisserie Chicken" with item number 37719 on the label. A picture of the product label is available on the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advice to Consumers page.

The complete list of the products subjected to recall can be read on the FDA website.

The CDC, USDA and the FDA along with several state public health officials are investigating the outbreak.

According to the CDC, Costco removed all of the remaining rotisserie chicken salad from stores in the United States on November 20, 2015 and have ceased further production of the product until further notice.

The agency said that illnesses began on October 6, 2015 through November 3, 2015. People who became ill range from 5 to 84 years of age.

The outbreak has sickened 19 people in the following states:

  • California (1)
  • Colorado (4)
  • Missouri (1)
  • Montana (6)
  • Utah (5)
  • Virginia (1)
  • Washington (1)

No deaths have been reported but fifty-seven percent of those who became sick are female, five people were sick enough to require hospitalization, and two people developed HUS.

The CDC says that other people may have become sick but not yet reported in because of the time it takes between when a person becomes sick and when the illness is reported. This takes an average of 2 to 3 weeks.

Health officials warn that "Even if some of the rotisserie chicken salad has been eaten and no one has gotten sick, throw the rest of the product away."

According to the CDC, 14 of 16 people purchased or ate rotisserie chicken salad from Costco in the week before illness started. Health officials are continuing laboratory surveillance through PulseNet to identify additional people who became ill and to interview them.

The Lord is awesome and mighty! Give praise to the Lord!

Why is it Great to Do Instability Exercises

Jennifer James Cooper

When you first look at it, many people see that workout exercise is best done in a series of even, smooth repetitions, like pedalling steadily on a workout bicycle, jogging on a treadmill, and so on. The truthful fact is that although these activities will certainly increase your fitness and health, they could not unleash your complete aptitude in either vigor or stamina.

Their very balance decreases their effect to a select set of muscles. This is the reason many fitness & health aficionados are unable to compete against the mixture of stamina or vitality that farm workers, sailors, soldiers, & ranch hands generally present. The artificial limits of stable, constant exercises result to essentially â ¬plasticizedâ ¬ health & fitness results. However, this is not the case with instability exercise activities such as sandbag workouts for instance.

Instability workouts involve utilizing a weight which is lopsided or uneven in some way to force a number of your muscles to work at each certain movement. Kettlebells, which are typically a huge rounded weight with a loop-like handle, are one sort of instability-based training exercise material. Even more effective (plus less pricey), sandbags also offer many of their particular health & fitness advantages for the reason that they are asymmetrical and unstable. The weight inside them will alter as you put them in motion in variable methods, compelling you to make use of a full range of muscles to control them in your grasp and be able to move them where you would want them.

The advantages of instability training exercise such as sandbag workouts involve many more muscles than the regular, â ¬symmetricalâ ¬ workouts. Making a movement on a rowing machine will use specifically like group of muscles in exactly the same approach, over and over again. But, as the bags of sand vary and slide within their duffel bag container as you're doing sandbag exercises, with the weight changing imbalance, you'll utilise a different group of muscles each time you put up the sandbag, even if every upward motion is theoretically just another repeat of the same workout.

Aside from the effectiveness of involvement of muscular movements written in this article, instability training exercises give a more forceful training exercise as well.â ¬">Sandbag training forces your muscles constantly for the reason that your body must adjust every second in order to keep the changing bulk of weight under control, balanced, and held where you like it. It is definitely for the reason that instability training exercise device is difficult to control that it moves your muscles more strenuously than the meek, simply manageable forces of a costly exercise machine.

Women and Men who work out with instability workouts will find their muscular overall vitality and strength advancing more rapidly than if they're utilizing the limited muscle building apparatus of a gym. Their muscle tone will also be refined in a far better-rounded method â ¬" no muscles will be left weak & underdeveloped. As such, your fitness & health will reach higher levels a lot quicker, and you'd be better able to contend with the challenge of actual physical movement.

CDC Links Chipotle To E. Coli Multistate Outbreak

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has linked an E. coli outbreak that has hospitalized 16 people and caused 45 illnesses across 6 states to the Chipotle fast food chain. According to the CDC, the outbreak, which began on October 19, 2015 has caused illnesses in 6 states including:

  • Washington (26)
  • Oregon (13)
  • California (2)
  • Minnesota (2)
  • New York (1)
  • Ohio (1)

The CDC, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and several state agencies are continuing with an ongoing investigation to find out which food is specifically tied to the E. coli outbreak.

Although 45 people have become ill from the bacterial infection, the CDC has not received any reports of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) or any deaths.

The agency says the ages of infected persons range from 2 years to 94 years. The outbreak seems to have affected women the hardest, they comprise 58% of those who have become ill, 16% of the people who became ill had to be hospitalized.

It is possible that more people have become infected than is currently reported. The CDC says that it may take between 2 to 3 weeks from the time someone becomes infected with Escherichia coli O26 (STEC O26) to the time the illness has been reported; thus people who became ill after October 31, 2015 might not have been reported yet.

According to the CDC, Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants at several states is a likely source of this outbreak. Thus far, health officials have not linked any specific food to the illness.

The agency says Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants is helping officials with agencies ongoing work to understand the distribution of foods served at locations where people consumed them and became ill.

Health officials are interviewing ill persons to find out what foods they consumed and anything else they were exposed to in the week prior to when their sickness started.

Forty-three of the forty-five people who became ill with E. coli said they had eaten at Chipotle Mexican Grill.

"Investigators are also using whole genome sequencing, an advanced laboratory technique, to get more information about the DNA fingerprint of the STEC O26 bacteria causing illness. To date, whole genome sequencing has been performed on STEC O26 isolates from 9 ill people in Washington and 1 ill person in Minnesota. All 10 isolates were highly related genetically to one another. This provides additional evidence that illnesses outside the Pacific Northwest are related to the illnesses in Oregon and Washington." said the CDC.

According to the CDC, illnesses started on dates ranging from October 19, 2015 to November 8, 2015. The CDC and state and local public health partners are continuing laboratory surveillance through PulseNet to identify and interview additional ill persons.

Food Addiction Can Lead to Death

Food Addiction Can Lead to Death

Food Addiction Can Lead to Death

By: Paul Wilson

Food has been described as ambrosia and the elixir if life. For some, eating is a biological necessity for others it is a passion that can turn into an obsession. Experts define food addiction to be a disorder where the addict is preoccupied with food, the availability of food, and the pleasure of eating. There are three recognized addictions:

  • Overeating, where the addict has no control over the amount or the number of times he eats. The person has no concept of being overweight or the servings a person must eat normally. Being an overeater, the addict will indulge in uncontrolled eating binges. Being obese, the addict will be prone to hypertension, diabetes, heart diseases, arthritis, and cancer.

  • Bulimisa Nervosa, where the addict binges and then tries to maintain weight by vomiting, using laxatives, excessive exercise, or even fasting. Such addicts will develop dental problems like thinning of enamel, excessive number of cavities, swollen salivary glands, fluid and electrolyte disturbances, as well as calluses and scars.

  • Anorexia Nervosa, where the addict fears weight gain and so starves himself. Obsessed with weight gain and body shape anorexics will exhibit obsessive behaviors in maintaining themselves. In the process, they develop problems like disruption of menstrual cycle, emancipation, hair loss, unhealthy skin pallor, and a lack or fluids.

The most common health problems are obesity, alcoholism, diabetes, bulimia, food allergies, and food intolerance.

The signs that you are addicted to food are:

  • Uncontrolled cravings for particular foods. Some are addicted to sweets, others to soft drinks, yet others to coffee.
  • Continuous or frequent eating. No fixed meal times an addict will eat throughout the day.
  • Sharpened hunger on consumption of specific foods.
  • Anxiety attacks, feelings of nervousness, low sugar, a headache, stomach gripes and grumbles.
  • Withdrawal symptoms.
  • Fatigue.
  • Extreme irritations.
  • Intolerance to foods.
  • Feelings of guilt at having eaten.

The very cornerstones to curing the addiction are to:

  • Identify and avoid what are known to be trigger foods or drinks.
  • Put into practice a diet that is nutrient rich, healthy, and helps maintain or loose weight.
  • Make lifestyle changes. Adopt a healthier lifestyle and include plenty of fresh air as well as exercise.
  • Focus on personal and spiritual development. Seek inner peace, calm, and joy. Practice meditation and deep breathing.
  • Plan to have activity filled days to distract the mind from food.

Even if you have a niggling doubt that you may be a food addict you must seek help. Nip the problem in the bud before it grows into something unmanageable and serious. You must consult a nutritionist, doctor, psychologist, or an eating addiction center or specialist. There are programs run by groups like Overeaters Anonymous that run 12-step programs which are extremely beneficial.
