Whole Foods Market Issues Voluntary Recall Due To Undeclared Peanut and Coconut in Korean BBQ Sauce

According to a posting on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website, Whole Foods Market has announced that it is voluntarily recalling one batch of Whole Foods Market™ Korean BBQ Sauce because it contains Peanut Coconut Sauce and therefore includes peanut and coconut allergens that were undeclared on product packaging.
People whom are allergic or sensitive to peanuts or (tree nuts) coconuts risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the recalled product.
The recalled product was packaged in 12-ounce glass bottles with UPC code 9948244812 and a best-by date of Oct. 19, 2017 and was available nationally at Whole Foods Market stores.
The company said all of the recalled product was removed from store shelves.
"One of the grocer’s team members discovered the mislabeled product while receiving a shipment at the store. Whole Foods Market contacted the manufacturer and confirmed that a lot of Peanut Coconut Sauce had been mislabeled as Korean BBQ Sauce." Whole Foods Market posted on the FDA website.
The company said no illnesses have been reported.
Whole Foods Market said that customers who purchased the product and wish to return it or a valid receipt into the stores for a full refund.
The company also said that consumers with additional questions can contact their local store or call 512.477.5566 ext. 20060 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.
