The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced that Speedy Foods, LLC, an establishment in Commerce City, Colorado is recalling approximately 920 pounds of chicken spring roll products due to undeclared allergens and misbranding.  The product contains eggs, a known allergen which is undeclared on the product label. 

The FSIS has designated this a Class I Recall of High Health Risk.

The recalled southwest chicken spring rolls items were produced on March 10, 2016 and Aug. 8, 2016.

The items subject to recall are listed below:

• 75 oz. BROWN BOX packages containing 180 pieces of “WHOLE FRESH FOODS SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SPRING ROLLS” with a package code of 3-10-16 and a case code of 16151 on the upper right hand side of the case.
• 75 oz. BROWN BOX packages containing 180 pieces of “WHOLE FRESH FOODS SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SPRING ROLLS” with a package code of 08-08-2016 and a case code of 16151 on the upper right hand side of the case.

The southwest chicken spring rolls items bear establishment number “EST. P-7195” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped to distributors in Colorado and Oklahoma. 

According to the USDA, the problem was discovered by Food Safety and Inspection Service inspectors while conducting routine label verification activities.

There have been no reports of injury or illness as a result of eating the recalled items. Anyone with concerns about illness or injury should contact a health care professional.

The USDA said consumers who bought these products should not to consume them. They urge consumers to throw the products away or return them to the place of purchase.
