Toning your body consists of how you lift the weights, and for how long you can lift them. It requires a very determined mind as well as some physical strength. It is the fastest way possible to tone your body. You want to tone your abdomen, thighs, biceps, and your shoulders and arms.

Swimming would rank as the 2nd best and fastest way to tone your body. It takes every muscle in your body to swim. So by swimming a certain amount of time every day will help tone those muscles. With our busy live today we forget to exercise or just simply do not have the time. Many people say that they are too tired after working all day to do any type of exercising. However, after a hard day's work there is nothing as refreshing as a little time in the pool.

Pilates routine workouts do work, and they have been found effective in reducing lower back pain and they help firm up fast. Many of these workouts are the same routines that we did from gym class back in school and are still so effective that they are still around today.

You will also need the nutrients that can only come from eating a healthy well balanced diet. Amino acids are a very large part of a great diet. They are the protein that we need. Carbohydrates and low fat, low calorie diets are great aids in keeping toned. Do not forget to take plenty of fiber content for speeding up your metabolism.

Three Factors To Consider When Choosing Garden Lights

Three Factors To Consider When Choosing Garden Lights by Iain Jenkins

Anyone who would pass by a house with a front lawn that is mainly just covered with Bermuda grass might not really appreciate the overall beauty of the real estate property. On the other hand, a house that features a lush garden full of blossoming flowers will instantly captivate the attention of passersby. A garden definitely adds a touch of elegance to any house.

For anyone who has a small garden in front of his home, it's nice to take some time to make it more beautiful. Gardening is a great hobby. One can work hard to make his home really stand out from his neighbors' houses through improving not just the architecture of his house but also the improvements there is on his property. A garden is one such improvement on one's property which can really add not just a touch of beauty to the property but will also have an impact on its market value, therefore increasing its selling price in case the homeowner decides to sell his property.

A garden is bound to be the frontline of attraction of one's home because passersby can easily marvel at its beauty. However, this is basically only true in the morning when the sun shines on the garden. When the sun sets, the garden becomes just a part of the darkness of the night. It is for this reason that any homeowner with a garden on his front lawn should purchase garden lights for the garden.

People mostly appreciate what they can see. A beautiful garden might be reduced to nothing but just an ordinary part of a real estate property at night when it is not visible to passersby. However, garden lights can help maintain the beauty that a garden has by illuminating it so that passersby can still see and appreciate the garden even at night.

There are basically three important factors one should consider when choosing garden lights to purchase to put in their garden.

The first factor is the location where one plans to put them. There are gardens which are quite very big especially if the front lawn is very spacious. In this case, garden lights can be placed on strategic locations to keep a well distributed illumination on the garden. Exterior floodlights are great for such a purpose. These can be placed on the ground with enough spacing between them in order to give them full coverage of the spacious garden. There are times when a garden is close to a wall. For this one, a set of exterior wall lights is appropriate to illuminate the entire garden. This will not only keep the garden well lighted but will also introduce a calming effect as the exterior wall lights complement the wall that is near the garden.

Aside from the strategic location, another important factor that will help in choosing garden lights is the intended coverage of the lights. Exterior floodlights generally have smaller areas that they can illuminate. However, the good thing about this are the areas it keeps lighted has a very strong concentration of light which can give a nice focusing effect. The light that becomes dimmer away from the focal point of the exterior floodlights adds a touch of magnificence to the overall aura of the garden. In contrast, exterior wall lights can illuminate a wider area especially if they are placed high enough above the ground. While a single exterior wall light may lack in light intensity on the area it keeps illuminated, they can be utilised together to solve this problem.

Finally, the cost is important in choosing garden lights. This is actually a toss up between exterior floodlights and exterior wall lights. The former needs to be placed in strategic locations in quite a big number to compensate for their lack of illumination coverage. On the other hand, the latter must compensate for its less light intensity by having a lot of them installed on walls near the garden.

In any case, either exterior wall lights or exterior floodlights are great to provide proper illumination to one's garden at night. These garden lights are definitely worth the money one pays for them.

Iain Jenkins writes articles for Luma Lighting, an online provider of lights for homes and gardens. Based in the UK, Luma Lighting feature a range of exterior wall lights for houses, from solar, battery and wired garden lights for decoration and parties, as well as exterior floodlights that are motion detected using PIR sensors for security, or can be switched on and off as required. Luma Lighting offers free delivery on all of their items on orders over 90 pounds.

Taking Heartworms Seriously

Taking Heartworms SeriouslyTaking Heartworms Seriously by Ann M Stewart

As the weather continues to warm up, with it comes the wonderful return of our dreaded enemy, the mosquito. Along with them comes the return of the threat of heartworms for our canine friends.

If aren't familiar with what heartworms actually are, here's a brief description from PetsMD.com:
"Heartworms are a species of roundworms and live in the arteries of the lungs and heart and the blood vessels surround both."

Needless to say, this is a significant danger that can potentially be fatal to our four-legged friends.

Heartworm Transmission

Heartworm is passed through mosquito bites. Here's the process:

1) A mosquito bites an infected dog, and gets undeveloped larvae in the blood extracted.
2) Those larvae being to mature, and are passed to more dogs the mosquito attacks.
3) The heartworm larvae move in the circulatory system to the heart and lungs and fully develop, leading to an infestation of heartworms.

Prevention is the Key to Defeating Heartworms

Heartworms can be very difficult to treat once an infestation has started. Treatment often entails multiple visits to your veterinarian, which includes a bill as large as the problem. Your veterinarian have multiple preventative treatments, including a pill, chewy bars, and topical treatments.

Your chosen method of prevention will determine how often treatment is required; it is essential to adhere the prescribed schedule of treatment to keep your dog safe and healthy.

As a boarding, grooming and doggie daycare provider, we have assisted clients with getting their dogs to the Vet for check-ups. Unfortunately, we have seen more than a few cases where the heartworm prevention regiment wasn't maintained, and we had to deliver the news their dog is infected with heartworm disease.

Heartworm Early Detection

Unfortunately, once a dog is infected, heartworms can be very difficult for the owner to catch; the symptoms are very similar to that of other common canine ailments. These symptoms include:

* Dry chronic cough
* Lethargy
* Weakness
* Loss of appetite
* Low energy levels

CAUTION: If your dog exhibits any of these symptoms for more than 72 hours, be sure to see your Vet.

Before your Vet will start a prevention regiment with your friend, he or she will do a blood test to ensure your pet isn't already infected. This is the only way to effectively diagnose heartworms

A regular grooming routine is a vital piece of catching a heartworm infestation early. More than just bathing, regularly brushing your canine's coat and keeping a watchful eye for insect bites will help you catch a possible infection early. If you have a hard time seeing through your dog's coat, consider enlisting the services of a professional dog groomer who can point out when these appear.

Owner of Advantage Pet Center, Ann Stewart has the pleasure of working with dogs, cats, lizards, and guinea pigs, just to name a few, by offering doggie daycare, cat and dog grooming, and pet boarding for all varieties of pets. Ann is continually looking for ways to help the owners of these animals maintain a happy home for the entire family.

Six Tips For Success In Your Home based Business

Six Tips For Success In Your Home based BusinessSix Tips For Success In Your Home based Business by Ewon Whynes

Have you ever wondered why 95% of the people who get involved in network marketing quit? The reason for this is because they spend more money than they are making (i.e. expensive autoships, the cost of replicating company websites, expense of going to events, and lack of proper training on how to network and how to market). Hint, hint, clue, clue the industry tells you what you need to do in the title, Network and Market!

Now 5% of Network Marketers are out there bringing in a 6-7 figure income while you may be saying why not me. In this article I will give you six tips to help you to become successful in the industry so that you do not become a casualty of the industry. Remember this if you take the business as a hobby your income will look like a hobby income.

Why is 95% failing and 5% making 6-7 figures?
The difference is that Amateurs sell, while Professionals Market. Once you figure that out, you will proceeded to learn how to market like a Professional.
Here are some tips that I will share with you about Professional Network Marketers and how to become successful inNetwork Marketing so that you don't become a statistic.

Tip #1
Professionals utilize online advertising tools or systems to work for them 24 hours, so they can enjoy a regular life. With the proper tools and systems in place, professional marketers will have an endless supply of prospects chasing them. This is called building a list of contacts, this is requesting your information and your knowledge.
In contrast, Amateurs fail to leverage the power of advertising and marketing. They chase family and friends, spend time on social networking site pitching their business at any and everyone with no system in place to sort or build a list. Remember sitting on Facebook and adding friends of other leaders will not get you the success you're looking for.

Tip #2
Professional Network Marketers also know how to promote and advertise to their target market. They don't have a one-size-fits-all approach to marketing themselves and their opportunity. Professionals use different marketing strategies to reach their audience.

Amateurs Marketers don't know about marketing so they take the approach of lets just talk to anyone and see if they are interested (kind of like throwing mud against a wall and what ever sticks they keep). Typically Amateurs will go out and talk about their products then their business ,they send people to replicated company website, they cast a large net to the general public, hoping to catch a few fishes. This shows no system and no list building tools. If you have to always be a part of the system then it's not a system. A system will work with or without you. Remember McDonalds has a system. You can buy the franchise and never have to be there to make money and that is how you should want your business to run.

Tip #3
Professionals have a marketing funnel for their prospects, so that they only deal with highly qualified leads. The marketing funnel is another tool that saves the professional time, and increases their income.
An Amateur will ask what is a marketing funnel!? Is that something you pour beer through LOL. Want to see what a marketing funnel is and how it works, opt in on my website .

Tip #4
Professionals market the solution to people's problems, they don't sell a company. They will sell a vision not a product, they will sell lifestyle not a life. Professionals understand the psychology of people and the psychology of sales. They know that people are only interested in the benefits that comes to them from what you are offering. They want their problems solved, so you must learn to listen more than you talk to be a professional.
Amateurs will verbally vomit all over their prospects about their company and their product, their pay plan, how much they make etc. Then they wonder why they are not making money and closing sales.

Tip #5
Professionals have a step-by-step system in place that equips the new business partner to make money. They also mentor and produce new independent leaders in their business.

Amateurs do not have a simple system or a professional training forum for their new people to plug into. They end up running and adult day-care because people become solely dependant on them. They will train their people to do the same thing. This will develop a stagnant team and group because you don't have enough time in a day to cater to all those people.

Tip #6
Professionals are constantly training and improving themselves. They attend marketing trainings, personal development, conferences and company events. They turn their cars into a traveling university. Go to a Professional's home and take a look at what they read and watch. You typically will find tons of books about the industry and people. Professionals understand that their product is people.

Amateurs usually attend one event or training, and think that's it. They don't buy books to learn about the industry and about people. They don't invest back into their business. They think they are doing the upline a favor by being in the business, they are always looking for a handout and not a hand up. One event or training is not going to make them a Professional.

Think about this, if your doctor went to medical school for only one week would you let him cut on you? Then why would you expect success from one week or month in your business? This is an ongoing process. This is not a thirty day, wait and see type of industry. You need to make a long term commitment to this system and industry. What ever your profession is, it took time to learn to be effective at it. This is no different starting up in this industry.

What To Know When Just Starting Mountain Biking

What To Know When Just Starting Mountain BikingWhat To Know When Just Starting Mountain Biking by Jasmine Stone

This article describes the basics of mountain biking. Learning more about the sport will help you to enjoy it even more.

Mountain bikes are among the strongest and most rugged bicycles that you can find. The reason that these bikes are so strong is that they are ridden on some very tough terrain, including steep inclines, dirt tracks, and pebbles. In most cases, mountain bikers do not ride on smoothly paved roads, rather they ride on hilly and uneven terrain that can be quite rough on a bicycle. Mountain bikers get a big thrill in riding on unpaved, rough terrain, even though this is hard on a bicycle. That is why many manufacturers have made sturdier bikes for this purpose.

The tires on a mountain bike are thicker and fatter than normal bike tires. They are also made of more durable rubber that gives the rider added traction and control on uneven surfaces.

Suspension is another very essential feature of a mountain bike. A strong suspension system is essential for a mountain bike so that the rider can better handle the ups and downs that occur when riding on uneven terrain.

Mountain bikes can be separated into several different categories that are founded upon the type of suspension that they have. The classifications are dual suspension, hard tails, soft tails, and fully rigid bikes. Rigid bikes feature a rigid fork. Soft-tailed bikes have a rear suspension that pivots on the frame. Hard-tailed bikes feature a front suspension fork. Suspension bikes have either front, rear, or dual suspension systems. These bikes also feature a shock absorber in the rear, in addition to a linkage.

Lighter weight material and materials that are more resilient are the norm for a cross-country mountain bike. You can find a cross-country bike that can weight anywhere from 20-40 pounds, depending upon your needs. An all-mountain or Enduro bike will usually be heavier than a cross-country bike. These bikes range in weight from 30-35 pounds. These bikes feature a suspension that will enable you to maneuver around hairpin turns and climb up hills much easier.

Heavier and stronger materials are used to build a free ride mountain bike. They are made to help make pedaling easier, so that you can easily move around anything that is in your way and you can make sharp turns. They weigh in at around 45 pounds, which decreases their efficiency over other cross-country bikes.

For downhill tracks or race courses, you will want to choose a downhill mountain bike. They offer you better traction than the other varieties of mountain bikes for maximum control and speed.

If short distance riding is your game, then a trial bike is probably the one for you. They lack suspension and do not have a seat or vestigial pad. They are also much lighter than other bikes for maximum speed. They weigh in at about 20 pounds.

Between mountain and trial bikes, you will find Street Mountain, Dirt Jumping, and Urban Bikes. These bikes are extremely touch and feature anywhere from one to nine gears with a chain guide for the front and rear gears.

Fast, Festive Summer Meals

Fast, Festive Summer MealsFast, Festive Summer Meals by Mimi Doe

It's summertime and the living should be easier - at least in the kitchen. Nature gives us everything we need to create simple, luscious, healthy meals -- it's up to us to slow down long enough to enjoy the bounty. With extended daylight hours, and no need to nag our children about homework, dinnertime can take on a whole new tone.

Shake things up a little bit this summer and have fun with these simple dinner ideas. Even the pickiest eaters will be won over.

*Picasso in the Kitchen
Allow the vivid colors of summer fruits to become your palette. Grab a large white plate or pretty tray and arrange slices of watermelon, kiwi, peaches, mango, grapes, and strawberries. This beautiful arrangement can become your table's centerpiece. Add a few bowls of various yogurts around the table and your hungry brood can dip to their delight. Warm a loaf of crispy French bread, wrap it in a festive cloth and add it to the table. Arrange some sliced cheeses and smoked or roasted turkey slices (pick these up at the deli counter) and you've got an easy does it, display that's good enough to eat.

*Participation is Key
Less structured summer days give kids the opportunity to join in meal prep. When kids cut the carrots chances are they will eat the carrots. You might even assign your older kids a specific night to select and prepare the menu -- with you as their sous chef. Offer them a few ideas such as "breakfast for dinner" or "mac and cheese night." The new social networking site for moms, MomJunction.com, recently posted an easy, tried and true Mac and Cheese recipe:

Boil 8 oz. small pasta. Drain, then stir in 1 cup milk, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar OR 8 oz. American cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle more cheese on top. Bake at 350˙ until heated through. Easy and yummy and plain!!!

You will want to help with boiling the pasta but other than that it's a cinch for kids about 8 years and older. To make this recipe even healthier, throw some peas (frozen or fresh) into the boiling pasta for the last few minutes of cooking time.

*Picnics Inside
Even if it's raining outside think "picnic." Who said a picnic needs to be under the sky? Pitch a pup tent in the living room or use paper plates in the dining room - the idea is simplicity and a lighthearted approach to mealtime. Buy a precooked roasted chicken from your local supermarket. You can often find organic, barbequed, or even provincial chickens for under $10.00. Assemble a large salad from the salad bar or buy a Caesar salad in a bag. Finally, pick up a container of vanilla frozen yogurt and some chocolate chip cookies. When you get home all you'll need to do is cut up the chicken, add it to the Caesar salad and scoop some frozen yogurt between 2 cookies, wrap them in cellophane and freeze for dessert.

*Partner Up
Create a weekly summer pot luck dinner gathering with neighbors. Harkening back to those beach days where everyone contributed to joint family dinners, enlist your neighbors to join you in creating the ultimate summer easy potluck, one night a week. Your kids will love the cooperative feel where gathering together is what counts. Get out a picnic bench, paper tablecloths, and come up with simple contributions from participating families.

*Protein Power
The combination of fat, protein and fiber in peanut butter makes it hard to break down, so it lasts longer in our systems - providing us more energy. A perfect, protein packed, summer dinner kids adore is Spicy Peanut Noodles. It's served chilled or at room temperature so this is a great dish to make in the morning before the day begins. Edamame is also packed with protein punch and would make a great accompaniment to these noodles. You can buy them in the freezer section of your local grocer for ultimate ease.

Spicy Peanut Noodles
Whisk together:
- 4 Tablespoons each creamy peanut butter (organic if available) and low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons fresh lime juice and a pinch of red pepper flakes
Toss with:
- 4 Cups of cooked pasta (spaghetti holds the sauce well)
- A seeded, sliced cucumber
- Top with a few sliced scallions

Options:
- Grated ginger and/or garlic
- Chopped fresh cilantro

Using A Heart Rate Monitor Pedometer To Benefit Personal Fitness

Using A Heart Rate Monitor Pedometer To Benefit Personal Fitness by Dennis Clay

Health monitors are essential tools for tracking your personal fitness status. They can also get you started on the fitness path in an easy and interesting manner. Remember that monitors should not just be treated as a source of information regarding your health and fitness, but should also serve as a source of motivation to reach the ultimate goal of fitness improvement. A heart rate monitor pedometer is probably one of the most useful and important health monitors that you can use to track your progress.

Practically anybody can benefit from a good health monitoring device. Some of these devices can help you measure the duration and intensity of exercise that you need by tracking what is known as biorhythm. This has something to do with things like how high your heart rate is for how long and other such health and fitness parameters. For example, if your heart rate monitor pedometer shows that you are now able to run faster at a lower heart rate then the intensity and duration of exercise that you need to keep fit may be less than it previously was.

Biorhythm performance metrics can effectively help you assess how much or how little your level of fitness has improved. You can also use biorhythm metrics to fitness levels with a friend or family member. Take someone who is of the same age, weight, and gender and then see which of you can run a specific distance in less time and with a lower heart rate. This person is considered to be the more fit. Getting into this type of friendly competition may be a good way of ensuring that you do not give up on your fitness goals.

The beauty of health monitoring devices such as a heart rate monitor pedometer lies in the fact that they keep you up-to-date as regards your fitness level and provide constant reminders as to how much more you need to work in order to maintain good health. A pedometer is especially useful in helping you figure out just how much exercise you've had on any particular day. If you can now walk one mile in 15 minutes as opposed to the usual 18 minutes then you are obviously becoming more fit.

There is a wide variety of health monitoring devices that you can take advantage of. Some are very complex and high-tech in nature, usually including a wide range of heart rate monitors and seeming to belong in a medical laboratory of sorts. There are also those that are simpler in design yet still provide multi-functional information that helps you track the changes in your fitness level.

You may speak to a qualified health practitioner or read up on these monitors to learn which type will be most beneficial to you. When shopping for a heart rate monitor pedometer, look for a store that will give you the best deals in terms of quality, functionality, and price. Above all else, be sure to purchase a device that caters to all of your specific fitness needs. You are, after all, working towards PERSONAL fitness so the device should be able to address YOUR needs.

Preventing Water Damage In The Home

Preventing Water Damage In The Home by Kevin Germain

Prevention is the key for many of the failures we see in our lives. With a little bit of maintenance and upkeep house hold problems can be prevented. Water damage is one culprit that can be avoided with regular care. How do you know when that little puddle in front of the refrigerator is more than just one of the kids spilling water on the floor? Here is a checklist to follow in your home to prevent the need for water restoration.

Utility Spaces

- Supply Lines: Regularly check the lines coming and going from washing machines. Hoses should be checked every six months and replaced when wear is evident. Most often hoses have a life expectancy of about three to five years.

- Water Heater: They are a big culprit for water damage in homes. All water heaters should be installed in the lowest level of your home. This will help to minimize damage if it should develop a leak. Also look for rust and wear. Around the time you start to see this occur is also around the time you should replace the water heater.

- Sump Pumps: The last thing you want is for a sump pump to fail in your home. Regular maintenance and a backup power supply can help eliminate the worry surrounding yours.
Bathrooms

- Tubs: A big culprit for leaks around a tub is inefficient caulk. Caulk is something that needs to be replaced at the first signs of visible wear. Another area within the tub that can be an issue is broken supply lines and pipes. If the floor or wall becomes soft a leaking pipe can be to blame. Have a plumber out to evaluate your situation. It might not be a bad time to have them replace the supply lines into the tub/shower, toilet and sinks.

- Sinks: Not only can supply lines start to leak overtime so can the connector pipes. If you spot a small leak it is probably time to look at the drain pipes and resealing them.

- Toilets: Supply lines and wax seals are the biggest issues to perform routine maintenance on to prevent the need for water restoration. Leaks from the toilets caused major issues in our foreclosed home. So much so that we had to replace the tile and carpet in the rooms adjoining the bathroom.

Kitchens

- Dishwashers: You will need to periodically check underneath the sink for leaks. This is where the water supply connects the dishwasher to the water supply. Also you can look for leaks around the dishwasher that could be coming from the seals on the dishwasher. Other ways that leaks can be noticed besides visually seeing the water is to look for discoloration around the cabinets and floor surrounding the area.

- Refrigerator: Most of the time refrigerators are fine. If you have an ice maker or water dispenser hooked to the refrigerator you will have to be more diligent in checking hoses and connections in and out of the refrigerator.

- Sinks: The kitchen sink needs to be periodically caulked and pipes checked. Slow leaks can be caught early and prevent bigger messes for homeowners.

If you do find a leak occurring in your home the best option is to first shut the water supply off to the house. This will give you time to look into and resolve the issue without further water damage being done within you home. If the damage is overwhelming call your insurance company for advice on professionals you can turn to for your water restoration needs. Prevention is the key in helping to eliminate large problems from happening but of course nothing is ever fool proof. Being prepared encase of an issue is the smartest way homeowners can deal with any water damage issues.

Healthy Dog Snacks From Your Refrigerator!

Healthy Dog Snacks From Your Refrigerator! by Linda Goguen

We all want to keep our pets healthy and happy so if we could replace those high fat packaged treats you buy at the local grocer with a treat to make your pets health and immune system stronger we’d jump at the opportunity. Our dogs can also benefit from healthy snacks like fruits and vegetables. Over the long term these snacks could help its weight stay steadier and help the aging process be less severe.

It’s important to observe your dog with any change in diet, if your pet shows digestive or behavioral changes always stop feeding the new food item. Also if the problem doesn’t go away after you stop feeding the added food consult with your veterinarian.

We all know that some plant foods are toxic to dogs, so it’s important to be familiar with what you should avoid and which ones are safe. If you are ever unsure ask your vet before you start feeding your dog a new healthy treat. Another thing to remember is that dogs are omnivorous which means that they are able to digest some different kinds of foods, whereas cats are carnivorous and are incapable of digesting some types of foods. So be cautious when handing out treats to the whole pet family.

Let’s take a look some healthy treats that a lot of dogs seem to enjoy:

- Blueberries are good either fresh or frozen in hot weather.

- Bananas are another good treat that can be frozen in hot weather.

- Strawberries are yummy goodies for your pooch to enjoy.

- Watermelon and Cantaloupe are a great hydrating treat but no seeds. Be sure to remove the seeds before giving to your pet, as they can cause intestinal blockage.

- Apples are my dogs favorite snack especially with a little peanut butter. Again be sure to remove the seeds and core because apple seeds contain chemical compounds that are poisonous to dogs.

Those are some delicious fruits for your dog, but for a complete diet they also need some vegetable treats too. Here are few of our favorites:

- Zucchini or Squash especially pumpkin are a great source of fiber. If your dog is prone to diarrhea add some pureed pumpkin with their food for the needed fiber.

- Lettuce and Spinach are healthy iron rich foods to keep your dog smiling.
